Overland Park, Kan. (January 21, 2009) The Supercar Life Level 5 Motorsports team announced today that a memorial fund has been established in memory of team member, Eduardo Cademartori, for the 2009 Rolex 24 At Daytona race at Daytona International Speedway January 24-25.
Cademartori, 27, was lost to the team in December 2008 after a fatal assault in Madison, Wis.
"It is never easy when someone is lost in the racing community, especially when it is someone on your team. Eduardo did a great job as our lead technician. Although we still have a job to do this weekend, Eduardo will be missed greatly. We appreciate all the support we have been given throughout this time and our thoughts go out to the Cademartori family," said Team Manager, David Stone.
Always surrounded by race cars and motorcycles, Cademartori's passion for racing led him to a successful career in motorsports. Described by friends as a true renaissance man, Cademartori traveled the world working for race teams JM Racing, Sigal Sport, Tafel Racing, Team Lexus and Black Forest Motorsports before taking his last job with the Supercar Life Level 5 Motorsports team as lead technician for the No. 55 Supercar Life Level 5 Motorsports BMW Riley Daytona Prototype.
Cademartori will be missed by many family and friends. He is survived by his mother, father and two sisters. His favorite quote, "Road racing is the only form of racing that really matters," is something many in this industry can continue to share with him in the seasons to come.
Life sometimes brings the unexpected, that which we would have never imagined. In support of the Cademartori family, we ask you to please join drivers Scott Tucker, Christophe Bouchut, Raphael Matos, Ed Zabinski and the rest of the Supercar Life Level 5 Motorsports team January 24-25, by donating as they race in memory of their beloved teammate in the No. 55 Supercar Life Level 5 Motorsports BMW Riley Daytona Prototype.
