Scott Tucker set his Boardwalk Ferrari team for another strong finish in this afternoon's race four by snaring the second position in today's qualifying session. Tucker turned in a time of 01:26.860 while Zak Brown in the No. 99 car snatched the pole with a time of 01:26.673.
Exerting his authority on the track, Tucker has proven himself to be the quickest during race three at Road Atlanta this weekend. After yesterday's qualifying session, Tucker turned in a time of 01:27.023, placing himself third on the starting grid for race three. The No. 55 Supercar Life Ferrari F430 then went on to take the checkered flag, leading the last seven laps of the race.
Brown will look to out-run the Series points leader who has collected 600 points so far this season. Leading the first half of race three, Brown thought he was a sure-fit for first place, when Tucker snuck up from behind, snatching the lead.
"Yesterday's race was grueling, but well worth it," said Tucker. "Race three definitely showed the competitiveness of the Ferrari Challenge Series racers. In the beginning, we found ourselves slipping back just a little, but once the second half of the race began, we climbed right to the top. Going into today's race, I hope to see that same result; on the podium and in first."
Carrying the coveted No. 27 plate, Ferrari of Houston's Mark McKenzie (01:27.531) will sit in third on the starting grid with drivers Mike Zoi (01:27.649) and Martin Burrowes (01:28.131) rounding out the Top Five.
Henri Richard, who finished race three in third, did not qualify.
Due to weather conditions, race four will now begin at 12:20 a.m. EST.
