TUCKER, BOARDWALK FERRARI SUPERCAR LIFE RACING TEAM HEAD TO SPAIN IN CHAMPIONSHIP QUEST

Scott Tucker and the Boardwalk Ferrari Supercar Life Racing team are headed fo a showdown at the Ferrari World Finals in Valencia, Spain. Tucker, well prepared going into this weekend's events has left nothing to chance.

A pair of victories at Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Spain, would greatly enhance the odds of Tucker winning his first Ferrari Challenge Series title. Coming into the weekend, Tucker holds a 75-point advantage over second-place Mark McKenzie.

"All I know is that we're going to stick to our gameplan and continue to do the things that got us here. That's about all we can do," Tucker said. "If we do that, then we'll give ourselves the best chance we've got."

Tucker has done everything to ensure a championship. Incredibly, he has won eight races in 2009.

"I've done the math, and the championship is a very complicated situation right now," said Supercar Life Racing team personnel director Ed Zabinski.

"Infineon has really put us behind the eight ball. Even though we've won eight races and are leading the points, it's going to take a little bad luck from Mark for us to win the championship. We're going to continue to do what we do best, and that's try to win races. It will be exciting to see how it all plays out."

The 2009 Ferrari World Finals will present Tucker with his first opportunity to race competitively at Comunitat Valencia Ricardo Tormo Circuit. However, Tucker and the No. 55 Boardwalk Supercar Life Racing team have tested twice at the 2.517-mile, 14-turn Spanish road course in the past two months.

Zabinski said Tucker has adapted to the track well.

"None of the North Americans have raced there before, but we've done some extensive testing," Zabinski said. In October, we met up with Christophe Bouchut (Tucker's teammate in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series) there and we spent an entire day driving the track.

"Christophe has raced there before. We worked on our setups and Scott's times were very comparable to the European drivers who had been there racing only a couple of weeks before. His times would have put him in the top five of that race. I think Scott's pretty confident that he's gotten familiar with the track, so I'm convinced he'll have a couple of great races."

Tucker is coming off sixth and 11th-place finishes in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway last month after doing double duty in a pair of BMW Rileys. He also won the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) National Championship in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, in late September.

The first of two races in the 2009 Ferrari World Finals are set for Saturday, November 14. The second is set for Sunday, November 15.
