Tucker Blows Away the Field to Win Opener at Infineon Raceway

Scott Tucker entered Saturday’s Ferrari Challenge Series season-opening event as the most successful driver in series history.  The driver of the No. 55 Level 5 Motorsports Ferrari 458 lived up to that billing as he charged from the fifth starting position and overtook some familiar faces to win at Infineon Raceway.

A field of nearly 30 entries took to the track in a race that marked the debut of the new Ferrari 458 Challenge race car.  Series regulars such as Enzo Potolicchio and Mark McKenzie were on hand providing ultra-competitive racing.

After somewhat disappointing practice and qualifying sessions, Tucker quickly got to work during the race, putting the others behind him and building a remarkable lead during the 20-lap race over Infineon Raceway’s 2.52-mile road course.

Tucker will return to action tomorrow as the series resumes with a second day of racing action at the scenic Sonoma, California, facility.  Qualifying for Race 2 is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET Sunday.  The green flag will wave at 5:30 p.m. ET.
