TUCKER TAKES FIRST IN RACE 1 OF FERRARI CHALLENGE SERIES SEASON OPENER

Overland Park, Kan. (March 21, 2009) - To succeed in the world of motorsports, it takes more than just passion, a skilled driver and a meticulously prepared race vehicle. Scott Tucker, driver of the No. 55 Ferrari F430, knows this all too well.

After dominating qualifying, Tucker took his position in the #1 spot on the starting grid at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The green flag waved as cars and drivers became one with the track.

As the race fell underway, Tucker drove ahead, leading with five car lengths between him and Mark McKenzie in the No. 27 car. It was on Lap 2 that the No. 90 car of Sunny Yu ran into mechanical issues, having to leave the race.

The No. 55 continued to run full speed ahead when Robert Metka in the No. 54 car suffered mechanical issues. With only four laps to go in the race, Carlos Conde's efforts were also hampered due to a fuel shortage, taking the No. 13 Ferrari out of the race.

With the race's completion in sight, the No. 27 and No. 42 cars of Mark McKenzie and Richard Fant continued to battle it out for the #2 and #3 positions. But as the checkered flag came down, it was Tucker who crossed the line; taking the first win of the year. Leading all 30 laps of the race, Tucker turned in a fastest lap time of 01:30.093 at 88.309 mph.

"Today was an incredible start to the year," said Scott Tucker. "The F430 remained consistent in its race and amongst the rest of the field. Already this season we are seeing an intense level of competition. With Race 2 still ahead, the stakes will be even greater, but I hope to continue to raise that bar."

Team Manager, David Stone was also pleased with the day's performance. "Scott ended his 2008 campaign with great success; we hope to continue that same momentum going into 2009. This track will see plenty of competition this weekend and we hope to be the team that brings it."

Rounding out the Top Five for the race were Mark McKenzie (01:30.310), Richard Fant (01:30.633), Mike Zoi (01:30.713) and Zak Brown (01:31.160) in the #2, 3, 4 and 5 positions.

Qualifying for Race 2 will follow on Sunday, March 22 at 11:15 a.m. EST with the race at 2:00 p.m. EST.
