In one of the tightest qualifying sessions in the Series history, Scott Tucker and his No. 55 Boardwalk Ferrari Supercar Life F430 Challenge car snagged second position (01:40.364) for today's race nine held in the beautiful rolling terrain of Mt. Tremblant, Quebec. Ferrari of Houston's Mark McKenzie took the No. 1 spot (01:40.352)-just 12 one-thousands of a second faster than Tucker. The top five drivers all posted times within five-tenths of a second of each other.
It's been four short weeks since the team last held off the tough competitors in the Ferrari Challenge Series. Tucker began the June 27 weekend in top form at Road America by setting a new track record of 02:24.133 during qualifying for race seven which bested the official track record of 02:24.610 that he had set during the fifth practice session. Tucker continued to run in front for the remainder of the race weekend, bringing home first and second for races seven and eight.
"Our success in the Series would not mean a thing without all of the support and help from my team and family," Tucker said. "This season we've had multiple back-to-back wins, set circuit records and have overcome many challenges along the way. Our ultimate goal in the Series this season is to become the national champion-if we continue like we are, I have no doubt that we can reach that goal."
"Scott's done an incredible job with the car so far this week," Team Manager Jeff Stone said. "After each session, we've continued to make some minor adjustments to the car, so that come race time we are primed and ready to go."
Eighteen drivers competed in this morning's qualifying session. Drivers James Henley (01:40.450), Zak Brown (01:40.739) and Henri Richard (01:40.917) rounded out the Top Five. The green flag for race nine will drop at 3:15 p.m. EST.
