On the heels of the announcement last month that Level 5 Motorsports will field an entry for the entire American Le Mans Series Prototype Challenge season comes word the Wisconsin-based team will field a second car in this the inaugural year for the LMPC, expanding the driver lineup which includes 24 Hours of Le Mans Champion Christophe Bouchut and Formula Le Mans podium regular, Scott Tucker. Both cars will debut at the season-opening Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring March 17-20.
"We're excited to announce that we'll be entering a second car in the series," said owner / driver Scott Tucker who will drive stints in both cars. "The new LMPC Oreca is a fantastic car to drive and we're thrilled to show what this team can do with it."
Christophe Bouchut will share driving duties with Tucker for Level 5 Motorsports for 2010. Bouchut, the only former Le Mans 24 Hours winner on the grid and only triple FIA GT champion in the world, joins the team for the full season. The expanded driver lineup is expected to be announced very soon.
"Christophe brings a level of experience to the Level 5 team that is unmatched," Tucker said. "His victories in the Rolex 24 At Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in gives him a unique distinction from the rest of the field. He will be a formidable teammate behind the wheel."
Bouchut has extensive experience in sports car racing, having claimed the overall victory in the 1995 Rolex 24 At Daytona and the 1993 24 Hours of Le Mans. He also has a victory in the 24 Hours of Spa and is a former FIA GT champion.
This year's running of the 12 Hours of Sebring is being met with great excitement as a record number of entries have been received for the historic event. A total of 37 teams will compete in what has become one of the world's premier sports car endurance races over its illustrious 57-year history.
"It is gratifying to see a record number of cars entered in the 58th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida," noted American Le Mans Series President and CEO Scott Atherton. "The enthusiasm and commitment of new teams such as Level 5 Motorsports are examples of the many reasons why the 2010 season will be among our finest. The level of competition in both Challenge classes as well as LMP and GT will no doubt thrill race fans worldwide."
"These cars are going to be incredible on the track," Bouchut said. "The engine package established by the American Le Mans Series is impressive. Fans will love the competition they see from these cars."

The American Le Mans Series will open its 12th season with America's greatest sports car race, the 58th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida from March 17-20.
