Tucker drove his Ferrari F430 to victory 11 of 15 races in 2009 in the North American Ferrari Challenge Series and stood on the podium for every race, something no other driver has done in series history. At times, Tucker and the Boardwalk Ferrari Level 5 team were simply dominant.
"That's an accomplishment in which the Boardwalk Ferrari Level 5 team takes a great deal of pride," Tucker said. "We look back on last year and know we put together a tremendous season in the Ferrari Challenge, a history-making season.
We're looking forward to 2010 with a great deal of confidence and enthusiasm. It should be another unbelievable year for us."Boardwalk Ferrari Level 5 Team Manager David Stone has watched Tucker's development as a driver in recent seasons and is excited about Tucker's drive for a title in 2010, his fifth year in the North American Ferrari Challenge Series. He has posted 27 victories in his first four years.
"He's fast, but perhaps his biggest asset is that he doesn't make mistakes on the racetrack," said Stone. "He continues to get better and better all the time. This year, I believe he's really going to show what he's made of."
Tucker's 2009 Ferrari Challenge Series success included a pair of victories at Homestead-Miami Speedway, a track where he competed in two cars in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 last weekend.
"Over
the past couple of years, we've gotten to know Homestead-Miami Speedway
pretty well. I'm pretty familiar and comfortable with this track,"
Tucker said. "You continually learn every time you come to a track.
But, I believe we're really starting to get the hang of Homestead-Miami.
We're hoping to get a great starting spot up front for both races and
then stay there, with the checkered flag in sight."Qualifying for the F430 Race No. 1 at Homestead-Miami is set for 3:35 p.m. Friday. The green flag is scheduled for 3:40 p.m.
Saturday. Qualifying for the F430 Race No. 2 is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sunday, while the race is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
