Tucker Earns Podium Finish in Dramatic Fashion in Race 1 at World Finals

VALENCIA, Spain -- Despite being forced off the track on the first lap, Level 5 Motorsports owner / driver Scott Tucker rallied for a podium finish in race 1 of the North American portion of the Ferrari Challenge Series World Finals at Communitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Spain.

Tucker charged from the back of the pack following the early-race accident, passing seven cars in a single lap, en route to a second-place. It didn't take long for Tucker to recover as he blew past a total of 20 competitors while clocking lap times that rivaled the leaders.

His runner-up finish and remarkable recovery caught the attention of his European competitors with his late-breaking technique, sneaking inside of cars on very tight turns.

"We got a really tough break on that very first lap. It's unfortunate that you can't control something like that," Tucker said. "I wasn't going to let that ruin my day. With nothing to lose, I got on the gas and just started fighting through traffic. I'm looking forward to getting back out there."

Tucker also continued his role as Ferrari test driver shaking down the 599XX for the world-renown manufacturer. He has been part of the development program for the latest supercar from Maranello and has logged numerous laps while providing feedback to Ferrari engineers. His busy week continues as the green flag for Race 2 of the North American portion of the World Finals is scheduled to wave at 3:05 p.m. Saturday. The North American champion will be crowned following that race.

The World Finals Championship event is slated for Sunday at 12:50 p.m.
