Tucker Takes to Spain for the Ferrari Challenge World Championship

It doesn't get much bigger than this weekend's Ferrari Challenge International Finals at Communitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Spain.

The American Le Mans Series LMP Challenge class Champion and series' Rookie of the Year Scott Tucker will field the No. 55 Boardwalk Ferrari Level 5 Motorsports F430. He is in search of even more hardware in 2010 as he vies for the North American Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy. Tucker has scored four wins so far this season and looks to add to that total in Spain.

This is what you work for all year. This is what it is all about," said Tucker, who comes into the prestigious event undefeated in 2009 North American Ferrari Challenge International Finals. "This is where the best Ferrari drivers in the world gather to see who the best is. We want to prove to everyone that Boardwalk Ferrari Level 5 Motorsports is just that -- the best."

It is the second consecutive year that the Ferrari Challenge World Finals have been held at the 2.517-mile, 11-turn road course. More than 17,000 fans attended last year's International Finals as Tucker won both North American Series races and finished first in the North American division in Sunday's World Finals finale.

"We enjoyed the success we had at that track during last year's event, and we're proud of what we accomplished," Tucker said. "But, the past is the past and we're focused on the 2010 World Finals. Our goals are nothing less than a victory in every race in which we enter. We are confident we can get the job done."

Tucker has turned in an outstanding 2010 Ferrari Challenge Series season. He has won races this year at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Miller Motorsports Park, Infineon Raceway and New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Along the way this season, Tucker was drafted as part of an elite driver team to test the newest Ferrari prototype supercar, the 599XX. He was personally invited to be a factory test pilot by Ferrari's CEO, Amedeo Felisa, in January.

Tucker tested the 599XX in March at Homestead-Miami Speedway and at Utah's Miller Motorsports Park in April. Another full session is scheduled this weekend.

The Boardwalk Ferrari Level 5 Motorsports team has had more than a month to prepare for the World Finals after winning a second consecutive T1 Ferrari 430 Challenge national championship at the SCAA national runoffs and securing the ALMS crown.

"We have had some time off from racing, but we certainly haven't taken any time off at the shop," said Boardwalk Ferrari Level 5 Motorsports Team Manager David Stone. "You can't do much of that if you expect to be a champion, and that's the expectations here. We've been working very hard to get these cars prepared for the World Finals, and we expect nothing less than another successful weekend in Spain. We know Scott is ready and he's really looking forward to it."

The North American and European Series will race together in a pair of events. Qualifying for the Race 1 takes place on Thursday, November 25, at 1:15 p.m. The green flag is scheduled to wave on Race 1 on Friday, November 26, at 1:40 p.m.

Qualifying for Race 2 is set for Friday, November 26, at 9:35 a.m. The flag is scheduled to wave for Race 2 on Saturday, November 27, at 3:05 p.m. The World Championship race starts at Noon on Sunday.
