Overland Park, Kan. (November 3, 2008) - This November 5-9 located in the Mugello region of Italy near Florence, the decisive races of the Italian, European and North American Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli and the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge racing series, come together to set the stage for the Ferrari World Finals 2008. For fans of vintage Italian race cars, it simply doesn't get any better than this.
A traditional, conclusive event to the motorsport season, some of the greatest cars from Ferrari history are found here. Racing both for the podium and championship title, these Challenge cars are as close and competitive as the owners who drive them.
Scott Tucker, driver of the No. 55 Westfund F430 Challenge car, will look to dominate in the World Finals as he currently sits second in the Ferrari Challenge Series standings. It was during the Labor Day weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park, where Tucker sealed his current position in the standings, by charging the No. 55 Westfund F430 Challenge car through the field taking a second-place finish in race 1 behind series leader Roberto Fata and the top spot on the podium with a win in race 2. This dynamic duo will once again race to the finish line at the season-ending event in Italy.
Throughout the season, Fata and Tucker have found themselves neck to neck in the series. Fata, a skillful driver himself, enjoys the challenge that Tucker produces on the track for him. "Scott Tucker is a great driver and really takes his craft to the next level. I have enjoyed going side-by-side with him throughout the season. He's the kind of driver I know I can go through a corner with and not worry about getting caught up in an accident. Because of the skills he exhibits on the track, he makes me a better driver."
Ready to cap off the season at the famed Mugello Autodromo Internazionale race track, Tucker looks ahead with determination ready to dominate. "This has been an incredible season with the Ferrari. Our team has accomplished so much and I can't thank them enough. This week of racing will create one of the better Challenges of the year. The No. 55 Westfund F430 has found its place in the series and is ready to take the lead. I look forward to the festivities and the competition of the race weekend."
The F430's and Historic cars will begin the week's events starting Wednesday, November 5th in open practice as the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro's parade will conclude the Finals week November 9th.
